Welcome to my blog. My grandfather used to say “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story”. Well, I have some good travel stories that really ARE true. I hope to have many more. I’d like to share them with you, Gentle Reader. I hope that you will want to share your travel stories with me as well.
In addition to interesting stories from my past travels, I’m planning a great adventure for 2014. I want to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain as a pilgrimage and to celebrate a milestone birthday. I am doing lots of research and planning to train to walk 100km in 5 or 6 consecutive days. I thought you might find the preparation for this adventure as interesting as the actual journey.
And so we begin. No passport required, but I hope that some of these stories will make you want to dust yours off if you haven’t used it much, or even inspire you to go get one if you never have before.
If you have an interesting travel story, please tweet me @undauntedme and tell me about it because I would love to have guests post their stories along with mine.
All of the photos that will appear on this blog have been taken by me or by my travel companions unless otherwise noted. The current header photo was taken by me at El Arco near Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico in 2003. My current Gravatar was taken by Maegan Gilliland of me at my family’s ancestral castle near North Berwick, Scotland in 2010.
